Kraft boss due at Birmingham Cadbury factory

The chief executive of food giant Kraft will visit Cadbury's main UK factory for the first time since the US firm bought the chocolate-maker.

Irene Rosenfeld will meet employees and management at the site in Bournville, Birmingham, later.

She is expected to hold a question and answer session with workers, who saw the takeover sealed earlier this year.

Unite, which campaigned against the sale, said workers would be pleased Ms Rosenfeld was visiting the plant.

Jennie Formby, national officer of Unite, said: "They will also want to ensure that she makes the time to meet with their representatives, Unite stewards, to assure them of a bright future for all Cadbury/Kraft sites in the UK and Ireland.

"Unite urges Ms Rosenfeld to use some of her time here to do just that."

Unite said it would be continuing to press for a so-called Cadbury's Law to prevent the hostile takeover of healthy UK businesses and to deepen shareholder responsibility towards the long-term well-being of companies in which they have a stake.
